About this Event
We are excited to announce our annual year-end celebration End with a Book! will take place on Friday, December 6, 6 - 9 pm. Please join us at 23 Cranberry Street for a night of delicious dumplings, a special offering of artist books, and a DJ set by YiuYiu 瑶瑶 of Chinatown Records.
2024 also marks AAAinA’s fifteenth anniversary, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with you!
Tickets are $40 to join us at 6:00 pm for drinks, dumplings, and general jollity. Contributions of $80 or more automatically enter you into the annual artist book raffle. For our special anniversary, we are thrilled to offer a selection of curated titles from four independent publishing endeavors from Asia and the Asian American diaspora, Raking Leaves (Sri Lanka), Ugly Dog (India), Gong Press (U.S.), and 1 and Half Atelier (China). Their works push the boundaries of book-making into artistic realms and exemplify contemporary independent publishing’s resourcefulness, collaborative nature, and ingenuity in forms.
The graphics this year are designed by artist Lau Wai, and a unique DJ set, curated by cultural organizer, artist, and oral history educator YiuYiu 瑶瑶 (aka Rochelle Hoi-Yiu Kwan), will accompany the festivities.
