Encore Opera comprises a collection of enthusiasts whose aspiration is to bring opera out of theatres and into local communities, showcasing both established and emerging performers.A unique combination of voices allows Encore Opera to produce a very special and unforgettable sound. Concerts include pieces from some of the most famous and best-loved operas, as well as some from less well-known works.
We present short scenes, pieces and arias from works by many and varied composers and from various periods in a format designed to give pleasure to both the regular opera goer and the opera novice. Our performers have great stage experience in opera and many other musical forms, with a wide range of voice types, giving us the ability to cover vastly differing pieces. Performances are semi-staged and costumed and mostly in the original language.
