Program Description
Enchanted Forest Adventures: Nature Super Heroes is a service-unit–based, badge-focused outdoor learning experience designed for 4th grade and older Girl Scouts. This kickoff will introduce participants to the Nature Super Heroes framework, emphasize leadership and shared responsibility, and connect nature stewardship, storytelling, and seasonal outdoor learning. It aligns with DeKalb County RPCA’s mission and vision, NRPA Pillars of Equity and Environmental Resilience, and the Girl Scout Law and Principles.

Restroom Notice
Restrooms are available at the recreation center prior to the outdoor portion of the program.
What to Bring
Wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for walking outdoors. Bring a refillable water bottle. Additional recommended items include gloves for light stewardship work, notebook or paper for contributions to group storytelling, and any personal comfort items for outdoor participation.
Recommended Ages
Designed for 4th grade and older Girl Scouts participating through their Service Unit. Adult leaders and volunteers are encouraged to attend and support.
What We’ll Do
- Introduce the Nature Super Heroes theme and how it connects to badge work and Service Unit goals
- Participate in a collaborative storytelling activity where participants contribute paragraphs to build a shared narrative rooted in our park and seasonal theme
- Engage in a short stewardship walk, including light park clean-up
- Create hands-on stewardship craft bracelets using upcycled materials
- Discuss connections between leadership, service, environmental learning, and accountability within the Service Unit model
This kickoff establishes expectations, shared leadership roles, and the structure for the bi-monthly series throughout 2026.

Light to moderate walking at a relaxed pace with frequent stops for activities.

By registering for or attending this program, participants acknowledge that outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to uneven terrain, weather conditions, physical exertion, and use of tools. Participation is voluntary, and attendees assume full responsibility for their own safety and well-being.
Participants agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless DeKalb County Government, the Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs (RPCA), its officers, employees, agents, volunteers, and affiliated partners from any claims, injuries, losses, or liabilities arising from participation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Food or refreshments may occasionally be served or shared. Participants acknowledge that food may contain common allergens and choose to consume any food or beverages at their own risk.
By attending, participants grant permission for DeKalb County RPCA and Park Naturalist-led programs to photograph or record them for educational, promotional, reporting, and documentation purposes across print and digital platforms. Individual image requests cannot be accommodated.
Registration and attendance indicate agreement with the Park Naturalist Program – Volunteer Waiver, Food & Beverage Disclaimer, and Media Release on file with DeKalb County RPCA.
