Painting with WaxJanuary 24, 2026
Saturday, 10 AM - 4 PM
With a Break for Lunch.
$175 / per person
All materials and supplies will be provided.
* Recommended for ages 15 and up due to the use of blow torches.
In this workshop, I will teach the basics of painting with encaustic. Encaustic is a mixture of purified beeswax and damar resin. We will melt the encaustic medium, paint it onto wood panels, and fuse the layers of wax using either a heat gun or blow torch. The workshop will begin with step-by-step instructions as we recreate the bee on the honeycomb. I will then introduce multiple techniques, and you will have the opportunity to create your own piece of art using the new skills you've learned.
All materials and supplies will be provided, and everyone will leave with (2) 6x6" paintings.
No previous knowledge is required; just bring your enthusiasm! The workshop will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 4:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break.
There will be a minimum of 8 students and a maximumim of 12
