In this workshop, students will learn the basics of kiln fired enamel; the art of fusing powdered glass to metal. Students will learn the steps to make enameled jewelry including pendants and earrings, and how to safely work with a 1500ยบ kiln. Techniques will include dry sifting colored enamel powder onto copper, using stencils and decals, sgraffito (scratching through a top layer of enamel to reveal the layer beneath), and painting on enamels. Students will work on several pieces to take home. No prior jewelry experience needed.Instructor: Juliet Cocca & Beth McGavock
