Introduction to Enamelling Weekend WorkshopLevel: Suitable for all
About the course:
A two-day, weekend course learning the magic of enamelling, this course is suitable for beginners as well as students looking to expand their skills. Students will learn how to prepare metal before enamelling, apply colour and textures, and then how to use the kiln to fire their pieces. We will also look at how to apply findings to an enamelled design to create final pieces that can be displayed or worn.
The workshop will cover a range of decorative techniques such as sifting, Sgraffito, stencilling, stamping, graphite with enamel as well as other effective, simple techniques.
Your Tutor:
Graduating in 2013 from Edinburgh College of Art, tutor Elizabeth Campbell is an award-winning enamel jeweller based in Edinburgh.
Day 1: Skills Tutorials
Elizabeth will introduce some enamelling techniques through live demonstrations and presentations of a rich variety of samples.
Day 2: Design & Make
Students will have the chance to design and make finished pieces using the techniques that they have learned with Elizabeth and of course, she will be on hand to offer advice and expertise.
