Join us for an Empty Bowls gathering!Sunday, November 16 | 1-3 PM | Buchanan Room

To support our neighbors in need, VisArts’ Center for Craft Studies presents Empty Bowls, an international initiative aimed at combating hunger in our community.
Ticket proceeds support Stepping Stones Shelter, a Rockville nonprofit that provides emergency food and shelter to families experiencing homelessness in Montgomery County.
Guests will have the opportunity to choose a bowl handcrafted by VisArts and Montgomery College students and faculty, with clay donated by Clayworks Supplies, and glazes and firing provided by VisArts.
A light meal will be served, courtesy of Catering by Seasons.
Guests are encouraged to enter the raffle for artwork created and donated by VisArts faculty and staff. Tickets may be purchased at the event: one for $10 or six for $50.
We also invite guests to bring a soup recipe—handwritten or typed—and the story behind it to Empty Bowls, where you’ll decorate a paper bowl with your recipe and memory. We’ll gather everyone’s into the VisArts Community Soup Cookbook, which we’ll share after the event.
