Needs at local food pantries and shelters are real and continue to increase in our community. The need is great! Over the last four years, food pantries like Love Chapel have doubled. Love Chapel is serving over 1500 families every month in addition to preparing over 800 packages of kid-friendly food per week for the schools to distribute to students in need. The increased need has stretched existing resources like food purchases, facilities, staff, volunteers, and equipment even more. Unfortunately, across the board, donations, though generous, have not kept pace with the increased need. This has caused a dilemma: purchase more or give out less. The community is invited to the 27th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser, which will be held on Saturday, March 15th at Central Middle School from 4:00-6:00pm. Tickets will be available on the Empty Bowls Facebook page and on the day of the event. Guests will enjoy unlimited soup, bread, and cookies. Guests will be able to purchase choices from a variety of ceramic bowls crafted by local artists, teachers, and students at the event.
100% of the proceeds from Empty Bowls goes directly to 6 local pantries and shelters:
Love Chapel, Turning Point, the Salvation Army, the Community Center of Hope, Thrive Alliance, and Human Services, Inc. Horizon House. Representatives from all 6 agencies will be present at the event with information to share. Can't attend but would like to donate? Follow the ticket link to donate!
Over the next few months, the leadership team for Empty Bowls will be reaching out to soup makers, bread bakers, corporate sponsors, day-of-event volunteers, and bowl makers.
