Guitarist and producer Jolan Decaestecker — best known for his work with the band Ão — explores an ambient and experimental universe with his solo project Empty Apartments. Using minimalist interventions with tape loops, iPhone recordings, and his background as a jazz guitarist, he creates soundscapes that aim to fully capture the listener’s attention without becoming oppressive. The result is striking musical compositions with a distinctly visual dimension. This clarity and complexity have earned him exciting collaborations with, among others, Benjamin Verdonck, Hendrik Lasure, and Rudy Trouvé.
