Empowering Femmes Spotlight: Axé WorldFest + DJ Mari Rossi (Brazil)

Welcome to a night of creativity and inspiration at Afterlight as part of Beyond City Beats initiative.

This evening is brought to you in collaboration with Ottawa based organization Axé WorldFest.
Axé WorldFest specializes in providing audiences with a positive experience of cultural activities showcasing world music in Canada’s capital. By bringing international acts together with local acts, all while strengthening the essential elements of a culture of diversity. Their mandate is to deepen the appreciation and knowledge of world music through music programs that underscore the diversity of international artists, in an environment that provides an inclusive, interactive, safe and energetic space for people to learn about and experience musical sounds from all over the world.
This evening will include an industry mixer + panel discussion. We will learn about the 4th annual EMPOWERING WOMEN IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY CONFERENCE presented by Axé WorldFest, including some of the key takeaways, challenges and highlights. Speakers will include: Claudia Balladelli - Axé WorldFest’s co-founder and Artistic Director + DJ Mari Rossi (São Paulo, Brazil), Hosted by ALAMUSIC + Britanny Provost (Rave About It)
Music will include a special vinyl set DJ Mari Rossi (São Paulo, Brazil) + Resident Selector ALAMUSIC
