Join Visit Emporia for the third annual Empovía event on Saturday, October 12th, from 10am to 2 pm., at Peter Pan Park. Empovía is a uniquely local approach to a global phenomenon, known as ciclovías. In Spanish, Ciclovía refers to the permanent or temporary closure of a network of streets to cars so that they become open to human-powered movement. Emporia + Ciclovía = Empovía!Bring your bikes, skateboards, and scooters to Peter Pan Park and ride in the street closed to vehicle traffic. We will also have zorb balls, and a bouncy obstacle course. Several community partners will offer games and activities including face painting, martial arts and the mobile Axe Shedd. Tumbados car club, the Emporia Police Department and the Emporia Fire Department will be there, and there will be an opportunity to help paint a design on the blade of a City snowplow. Plus we’ll have food trucks, music and more. Grab friends and family and enjoy a beautiful autumn day in the park!
