About this Event
On February 17th, Crooked Ideas is bringing together Pittsburgh’s activist community, neighborhood organizers, and residents for an evening of learning and strategy in response to heightened ICE activity and federal policing.
The event will use the themes of the award-winning podcast Empire City: The Untold Story of the NYPD – power, policing & public safety – to connect local rapid-response activism to larger historical and systemic patterns.
Award-winning Empire City host and professor of journalism, Chenjerai Kumanyika, will be joined in conversation with history-making Congresswoman Summer Lee.
The event is free of charge; however, seating is limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
This isn’t just a panel — it’s a community strategy session with art, storytelling, and organizing woven together.
