Día de Muertos would not be complete without an ofrenda (altar). SAMA will present an ofrenda designed by Amalia Mesa-Bains in honor of Emma Tenayuca, a San Antonian labor and civil rights activist known for her central role in the Pecan-Shellers’ Strike of 1938. The ofrenda will be on view in the Great Hall beginning October 22. Live music provided by Mariachi Guerrera Quetzali. Visitors are invited to contribute names of loved ones.
