Learn how to provide essential shelter and support for the vulnerable with our FEMA instructor-led course. Be prepared to offer refuge until normalcy returns. This comprehensive training will teach participants sheltering practices and techniques that will prepare you for these emergencies. The goal of the course is to familiarize students with the seven different roles involved in sheltering, the resources available to shelters, how to prepare for shelter operations, and how to use the Shelter Field Guide to open, operate, and close a shelter
Course Objectives: • It will identify the 7 different roles involved in sheltering. • Explain the resources available to shelters. • Use the Shelter Field Guide to open, operate, and close a shelter. • Prepare for shelter operations.
This course is intended for Shelter Managers and functional supervisors representing churches, faith-based groups, non-profits, or private industry.
