To start off the day, Amy Hardy’s talk will guide us through the most important development in the understanding of the link between trauma and psychosis, and the application of trauma therapy to people with psychosis. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end

11:00 Is EMDR for psychosis (EMDRp) a promising new treatment?
Filippo Varese, the chief investigator of the EASE trial, will reveal the findings of the first randomised controlled trial of ‘EMDR for psychosis’ in the UK

11:15 What does EMDRp involve?
David Keane and Debbie Malkin, two EMDR consultants who supervised all clinical work of the EASE trial, will introduce in more detail the ‘EMDR for psychosis’ intervention we evaluated in Early Intervention clients

How do service users find this kind of clinical work?
Yvonne Awenat, the senior qualitative researcher of the EASE team, will illustrate the findings of in-depth interviews we conducted with service users who received EMDRp
