About this Event
EMCN Culinary Skills Training Program
This new EMCN program is a hands-on, PAID, 12-week training program and introduction for anyone seeking to enter any aspect of the food service and hospitality industry from fine dining chef to catering, to food truck or large-scale production and institutional careers, or possibly even open up your own restaurant.

Program Registration
- This registration ONLY identifies that you are interested in being a candidate for consideration for a particular cohort/class intake. You will be put on a wait list, and a program representative will contact you directly to discuss your interest in the program and next steps.
- This registration does NOT confirm your registration as an actual participant in the program.

Participants Receive:
- A 12-week program that’s PAID with: + 8 weeks of intensive training on essential kitchen skills + 4-week practicum with a local business partner
- Real kitchen experience and instruction from Red Seal Chef Daniel Huber on etiquette, essential professional kitchen and technical skills, as well as designing, preparing, cooking and plating dishes.
- Transit passes (if required).
- Their own uniforms.
- Various life and employment skills taught by the Essential Skills Facilitator Mikayla Stevens, such as: + Navigating your job search, and + Sustaining a healthy real-world skillset as you pursue pathways in the culinary field.
- Mentorship over an additional 12-weeks of work experience through job placement.
- Graduates also receive tools of the trade, a premium knife kit that’s developed internationally and sourced locally.

Who Can Access the Program?
Our program is open to anyone in Canada who is legally permitted to work.
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
- Must have English language proficiency with speaking, reading and writing skills - at least Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 4 English language skills or higher.
Where is the EMCN Culinary Skills Training Program?
- The EMCN Central location in downtown Edmonton, Alberta at 10170 112 ST NW.
- Program runs Mondays to Fridays from 9 am—3:30 pm.
