Embroidery Workshop

Come join us for a fun and creative embroidery workshop at treen.

Join the embroiderer behind Hoop&Bone, Katy Eccles, for a two hour embroidery workshop during which she will teach you how to breathe new life into unloved pieces in your wardrobe using simple embroidery additions. Learn how to cover up annoying small stains with simple embroidered motifs or reinvent a piece you no longer reach for by embellishing it with some fun stitch work. No sewing experience required, all equipment will be provided. Just bring along the item you want to renew, please note this is not a darning workshop.

Katy is a self taught embroidery artist who lives andworks in Edinburgh. She employs a free hand, thread painting technique to create hyper realistic pet portraits and textileart embroidered onto her signature dupion silk fabric backgrounds. She is passionate about renewing unwanted clothing items with embroidered additions and regularly up-cycles clothing with her bespoke embroidery designs to give items new life. Without any formal training in embroidery she stitches as she would paint or draw, so no two pieces are ever the same. All her embroidery pieces are individually designed andhand sketched before being hand stitched onto a fabric background. She has collaborated with Kestin Hare, Araminta Campbell, Gigi&Olive, LeTee and Rosie Sudgen cashmere as well as the Fife Arms.

Suitable for beginners. All materials will be provided. Workshop will last two hours. A selection of pastries and non-alcoholic refreshments will be provided. We look forward to welcoming you!
