About this Event
In this workshop led by @kentbindery, students will learn a variety of beginner and intermediate embroidery techniques like:
- fabric tacking
- backstitch
- bouillon knots
- french knots
- fly stitch
- stem stitch
- satin stitch
- sewing with beads
- and hoop finishing
DETAILS:
Students will learn and advance their embroidery skill set by sewing a seasonal botanical landscape in class. The scene for this class is an autumn pumpkin patch below a star-beaded night sky. The scene is created with three separate layers of cotton fabric (pictured below) representing a foreground, middleground, and background.
No two hoops will look identical– The technique of layering fabric as a sewing pattern will result in a unique embroidery hoop for each student, making it a perfect hanging art piece in your abode or as a gift for someone special!
This class teaches embroidery with the aid of an instruction booklet. No prior experience is needed. Embroidery requires the use of tools like sewing needles and scissors. Fine motor skills required!

MATERIALS:
Take home: Embroidery instruction booklet, 5" wooden embroidery hoop, embroidery fabric, DMC 6 strand embroidery floss, sewing needle, beads
In-class-access: scissors
Students are welcome to bring any tools or materials of their own to use in class!
