About this Event
Learn to use the makerspace's Brother embroidery machine! This class covers the basics of setting up and safely operating the machine, the various hoop attachments, and a brief overview of the Floriani embroidery software available for use in the Textiles Lab. Each participant will get a chance to create a simple patch featuring a short phrase. Make a name tag, a merit badge, or get weird with it. Completing this class allows you full access to the machine.
For learning purposes, we will be starting with simple polytwill patches (provided). If you have a specific item you are interested in embroidering, feel free to reach out at [email protected] and ask.
Handling sharp tools/materials, needles, loose long hair/clothing is not recommended
Extra materials needed: polytwill, stabilizer, and thread- est $5.00 per person.
