Have you ever wanted to learn to embroider? In this class, we will start at the beginning and make a stitch sampler. While there will be a pattern to follow, you will be encouraged to use your creativity with different types of threads and designs. The “rules of embroidery” will be taught, and then you will be immediately encouraged to break them. You will have the opportunity to use several different types of embroidery floss, crewel wool, and cotton sashiko threads. You will be guided through seven of the foundational stitches, including the running stitch, backstitch, satin stitch, blanket stitch, French knot, as well as the decorative stitch, couching.
No previous experience is necessary - we'll teach you everything you need to know to create beautiful designs.
All materials will be provided, including a hoop, fabric, thread, and needles, so all you need to bring is yourself and a willingness to learn. Come join us for a fun and relaxing evening of embroidery, and leave with a newfound love for this timeless craft.
