Join the Tiny Forest Academy at Wye Marsh, and rediscover the benefits of outdoor play. Dive into the concept of “risky play” and its incredible impact on child development. Learn how to support safe, effective, outdoor adventures that let children explore and experience the glory of the natural world around us. This FREE workshop is designed for inquisitive parents, educators, childcare providers and outdoor program facilitators.

About the Instructor:

Whitney Glage, certified teacher, outdoor educator for the young and young at heart, nature lover and owner of Tiny Forest Academy.

The Forest School in Tiny, ON , focuses on providing outdoor supplemental and alternative learning environments to students at a ratio of 1:5 with certified educators. The team compliments each grade’s curriculum learning by expanding on ideas, providing long stretches of child-led learning and discovery, and physical and mental skill development.


About Wye Marsh:

Friends of Wye Marsh is a not-for-profit charitable organization taking care of 3,000 acres of provincially significant wetlands and federal forests in the Heart of Georgian Bay. This National Wildlife Area and recognized Important Bird Area (IBA) provides habitat for a number of significant species including provincially Threatened Least Bitterns, Species of Special Concern Black Terns, and the famous Trumpeter Swans

Wye Marsh is the perfect place to Escape - Explore - Experience the area's natural history as the site includes 25 km of all-season trails, a Birds of Prey field, and Visitors Centre!
