6:15-7:30 p.m.
Yoga for tango
(No experience required) Yoga exercises to prepare your body for tango by working on strength, stability, posture and mobility. With certified yoga instructor Andrea Shepherd.

•Friday, Aug. 9
6:30-7:45 p.m.
1. Listening and layering: musicality for tango dancers (all levels). Discover ways to express and play with the music to make your dancing more interesting without memorizing a million figures. We’ll explore time, double-time and phrasing as well as touching on syncopation, dancing the melody and conveying the feeling of the music.
8-9:15 p.m.
2. Decorate your dancing (intermediate+). Accessible and beautiful leader and follower adornos (embellishments) inspired by the music.
•Saturday, Aug. 10
1-2:15 p.m.
3. El abrazo milonguero: close-embrace basics (all levels). How to stand, walk and hold your partner in order to get a little (or a lot) closer with comfort and elegance.
2:30-3:45 p.m.
4. El abrazo milonguero II: cortados, crosses and combos (intermediate+). Starting with milonguero-style ochos, we will build some elegant and fun mix-and-match sequences tailor-made for close rhythmic dancing.

2-3:15 p.m.
5. Cross vs. parallel: sorting out the systems (all levels). Why do we need two systems and how can we use them to better express the music and manage our space on the floor?
3:30-4:45 p.m.
6. Milonga! Wow them with simplicity (intermediate+). Using one basic figure as a foundation, we’ll build some fun, impressive and — of course — musical sequences.
*Please arrive at least 5 minutes early for classes, so we can start on time.
*Levels:
All-levels = anyone currently engaged in tango learning, from beginner thru to advanced.
Intermediate & up = approx 1 yr or greater tango experience.
The intention is to include as many dancers as possible while maintaining a progressive learning environment, engaging for advanced dancers as well.
