Alison Billman is a researcher at the University of California, Berkeley who studies and designs science and literacy curriculum for elementary grades. She has just returned from Norway where she served as a Fulbright Scholar working with Norwegian teachers, elementary students, and university professors and is teaming up with OWL to offer a half-day drop off program for students in grades K-5 under the auspices of Kids Building Bridges, a program Alison created as part of her Fulbright experience. Participants will share Norwegian treats, view and read stories from kids in Norway, create videos and stories to share with kids in Norway, learn Norwegian phrases and songs, and create a care package to share with a group of school aged kids in Norway. This program is scheduled for Tuesday, November 26, from 12:00pm-3:15pm, which is a half-day for our area school districts. Pre-registration is required.
