A journey of self-discovery + authentic connection through contact improvisation in a safe and supportive space for women."Embodied Connection" is a workshop that aims to create a safe and supportive space for women to explore and deepen their connection with their bodies and each other. Through a combination of somatic awareness practices and contact improvisation, participants will embark on a journey of self-discovery, embodiment, and authentic connection.
Workshop Outline:
1. Introduction to Somatic Awareness (30 min)- participants will be guided through somatic exercises and mindfulness techniques to cultivate awareness of bodily sensations, emotions and movement patterns.
2. Attunement practices (45 min)- facilitated exercises will encourage participants to attune to their own bodies and the subtle cues of their fellow participants, fostering empathy, trust, and nonverbal communication.
3. Contact Improvisation Jam (60 min)- participants will engage in a contact improvisation jam session, where they will explore physical interaction with one another in a playful and supportive environment.
4. Closing circle and reflection (15 min)- the workshop will conclude with a closing circle where participants can share their experiences, insights, and reflections from the session
