About Radan Kanev:
Radan Kanev is a prominent Bulgarian politician and lawyer having obtained his L.L.M from Sofia University. He started his political career as one of the founders of Democrats for Strong Bulgaria where he was elected Board Member in 2007. In 2014, he was elected to the Bulgarian National Assembly serving as co-chair of the Reformist Bloc coalition.
Kanev has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2019 and sits in the European People’s Party (EPP) group. He is an active member of the Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) as well as the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and Subcommittee on Public Health (SANT). He has contributed to the green transition and industrial transformation as rapporteur for the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) and through his work on the Just Transition Regulation, the horizontal Fit for 55 Package. Radan Kanev is also on the Board of Directors of the European Energy Forum.
