Love Rat’s music is made of the Alabama red dirt they were born on, but it zooms out - it is more Southern than Alabama, and further still is more American than it is Southern. It's a cool breeze and an even colder beer after hard work in hot weather, but this music thrives in any environment. The band calls it modern throwback music, as they were clearly brought up on decades-old rock, folk, blues, and country, while still being influenced by the grunge and hip-hop of the current era.
