ELSIE LANGE launches her debut mini-album THE NORMAL DISCONTENTS OF LIVING in her hometown, Mparntwe/Alice Springs. Released in May this year, the record is a seven-track collection that marks a bold step forward for Elsie, showcasing her most turbulent and direct song-writing yet. Drawing inspiration from Elena Ferrante, the album’s title reflects a deep dive into the chaos of human emotion – fury, regret, love, grief and self-doubt.
'The Normal Discontents of Living' carries forward Elsie's fascination with the places that have shaped her: the wide, arid landscapes of her childhood in Mparntwe/Alice Springs and the city life of Naarm/Melbourne, her home for a decade.
Now residing back in Mparntwe, she has assembled a band of incredible local musicians to bring the songs to life and give them a launch in the desert on Arrernte country.
Supported by much loved local legend Steph Harrison, the night will be a celebration of warmth, homecoming and community.
Free - Epilogue Rooftop - music starts 8pm.
This event is taking place on the stolen land of Arrernte people from central Australia. Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
