Shrek the Musical Jr. is a 60–70 minute adaptation of the Broadway musical based on the DreamWorks Animation film and book by William Steig. The show is written by Jeanine Tesori and David Lindsay-Abaire and includes imaginative sets and costumes, over-the-top roles, and familiar characters.
A twisted fairy tale and part romance, the show is about an ogre named Shrek and his friends who travel to Duloc to rescue Princess Fiona and other fairytale creatures from the evil Lord Farquaad.
