Eli Wirtschafter Album Release with Couplet

Please join us for an afternoon with Berkeley family folk band vibes and new music from siblings Eli Wirtschafter and Marnina Schon.
Eli Wirtschafter sounds like Nick Drake in a better mood. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist sprouted out of the rich soil of Berkeley and Oakland, immersed in family folk jams and the ghost of 60s counterculture. At age four, he found his first love, the violin, which he has explored in classical, jazz, klezmer, and folk music. Eli has performed on stages throughout the Bay Area, including as a theater artist with Shotgun Players, We Players, and the experimental musical theater group Radix. As a songwriter, he brings a playful spirit and a love of language to big questions and quiet moments. Leaving the Bay Area for Los Angeles during the pandemic sparked his debut album, Rose Colored Town, a search for love, home, and a moment’s peace.
Couplet is in love and you're gonna hear alllll about it! With a guitar as a shovel and a fiddle as a smaller shovel, Marnina & Micah will dig up their relationship history, one overshare at a time. This is their date night, and it could be yours too! And like every date night, they're trying out brand new material as they prepare to bring this show to Edinburgh Fringe this summer. Micah & Marnina write and perform monthly at Los Angeles's Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre with Quick & Funny Musicals, and their musical comedy More Guns! ran for two years at Second City and toured to SF.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.
Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.
The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. You are welcome to bring your own food and beverages. The venue is ADA accessible. If you need more information or have any questions, please call us: #510-381-1997.
Thank you for your support!
Please note: Although masks are no longer required, we strongly encourage their use to keep everyone safe in our intimate space.
