Join us at Elgin Public Museum for this exciting hands-on field trip where we’ll explore the fascinating world of Indigenous technology! This interactive program teaches how Native Peoples ingeniously used materials from the natural world around them—such as sticks, stones, bones, turtle shells, and porcupine quills—to create the tools they needed to survive and thrive.
Participants will have the unique opportunity to handle and test some of the items as we dive into the resourcefulness and creativity of Indigenous cultures.
After the program, guests will have the opportunity to further explore the rest of the museum, including an optional scavenger hunt.
This event is capped at 25 STUDENTS, we will have a few (but not all) adults accompany the students into the program area, other adults and siblings can enjoy the museum space while the program is in session. The cost is $3 per person (under age 3 is free).
Please comment the total number of attendees as well as the ages of students who will participate in the program and if you prefer to be in the program room with your students (will we do our best to accommodate everyone).
