Welcome to the ELEVATION Silent Book Club® Chapter!!If you are an introvert wanting to dip your toe in the social pond and/or you just love to read books, then this group is for you!!
I started the ELEVATION Silent Book Club to help encourage and cultivate social connections, and because reading with friends enriches our lives, makes us happy, and helps us to elevate our lives. Elevation Silent Book Club is about community. Everyone is welcome, and anyone can join!
This is a FREE LIVE EVENT and intended to encourage social interaction, mental stimulation, and community connections. Friends and strangers gather at a set time and location, enjoy some food or drinks, share what they're reading, and settle in for an hour of silent, sustained reading. At the end of the hour, attendees can socialize—or not depending on your desired level of social engagement.
Don't stress! This isn't your typical book club... There will be no assigned book to read, no deadlines to keep up with, and no heady, intellectual questions to worry about preparing witty answers for. This is totally relaxed. You get to pick your reading material (or audiobook - just bring headphones please), and enjoy it at your own pace.
Come on by for a little mingling with other elevated book lovers in the community who are also looking to become a little more social and enjoy some quality reading time!
I hope to see you there!!
Your Organizer & Host,
Melissa Z. White

Never heard of the Silent Book Club®?
Silent Book Club® is a global community of readers and introverts, with more than 900 chapters in 50 countries around the world led by local volunteers. SBC members gather in public at bars, cafes, bookstores, libraries, and online to read together in quiet camaraderie.
Silent Book Club started in San Francisco in 2012 with a couple of friends—Guinevere de la Mare and Laura Gluhanich—reading in companionable silence at our neighborhood bar. They loved books, and reading with friends, but most of their previous attempts at book clubs had fizzled out.
Often with traditional book clubs there's the scramble to finish the selected book, and the pressure to have something smart to say. Wouldn't it be great to have a book club where you could just enjoy books, friends, and drinks—without any homework? At the ELEVATION Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. No pressure of having to have prepared answers to designated questions. All readers are welcome—ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books... it's BYO Book.
