ELEVATED WORK PLATFORM COURSE (EWP)WARRNAMBOOL, Vic
19 & 20 December 2024
An Elevated Work Platform with a nominal reach of 11 meters or more requires that the operator have Worksafe accreditation. Smaller EW operation still requires the employer to provide adequate information, instruction & training to their employees.
EW operation is often the most effective method to safely work at heights. A National "High Risk" Licence for EWP allows for operation of machines of any configuration & size Australia wide.
COURSE CONTENT SUMMARY
At the successful completion of this course, participants will be able to safely inspect & operate a
forklift. Course contents include:
• Legislative Requirements
• Hazard Identification & Control
• Communications
• Pre-Start inspections
• Start up operational checks
• General Operations
• Emergency Descent Procedures & Methods
• Rescue Procedures
• Harness fitting & inspection
• Shut Down
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
• Applicants must be over 18 & have a good grasp of English & a basic ability for math.
• Pre-Study material is issued for this course.
WHAT DO I DO ON THE DAY?
• Training is a combination of theory, practical & assessment—16 hours over two days.
WHAT DO I GET ON COMPLETION OF THE COURSE?
On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a Nationally Recognised
Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0005—Licence to Operate a Boom Type Elevating Work
Platform.
A notice of satisfactory assessment is issued & the applicant is required to take this to
any Australia Post outlet within 60 days, along with 100 points of ID & WorkSafe licence fee.
