As the wheel of the year turns and the Autumnal Equinox brings shorter days and longer nights, we gather together to celebrate the harvest. The fields are full of the bounty of the labors of the folk who tend them, and we gather together to honor the Kindreds who aided have aided us.We will be celebrating this High Day in the Hellenic/ Greek tradition this year as we honor the agricultural deities Dionysus and Persephone, drawing upon the inspiration of the Eleusinian Mysteries. The journey of Persephone from the world we live in to her other role as queen of the land of the dead provides a mythical framework to understand this change of seasons.
As always with our public high day rituals, please join us after the ritual for a potluck feast.
