Elena Gilliam, honored as a Living Legend of Jazz in 2013 by the Living Legends of Jazz and Blues Foundation of Los Angeles, is a celebrated jazz vocalist renowned throughout Southern California. Often compared to legends like Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Dinah Washington, Elena captivates audiences with her rich, eloquent tones and brilliant phrasing, offering a musical journey spanning jazz, swing, standards, Latin, and blues.

In April 2024, Elena marked her orchestral debut and the official release of her album "Shall We Dance" at Irvine's Barclay Theatre. Conducted by award-winning producer, composer, and arranger Bob Barrett, with Grammy-nominated musician Tony Guerrero, the performance mesmerized audiences with orchestral renditions of classics like "Shall We Dance," "Send In the Clowns," and "The Sweetest Sounds."

Elena's journey as an extraordinary jazz vocalist has been polished through countless performances at prestigious venues and festivals including The SoCal Jazz Festival, Hyatt Newporter Jazz Festival, KKJZ 88.1 Jazz at the Segerstrom series, and Spaghettini Grill & Jazz Club. Her recording career has been equally diverse, from collaborations with big bands to solo projects like "Moments in Time" and "Then Another Turns," showcasing her prowess in standards and blues.

Beyond her musical career, Elena is passionate about nurturing young talent and empowering teenagers through performance workshops and outreach projects. She continues to bridge generations by producing jazz events like Art & Jazz at the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center in Anaheim, where she holds a Jazz Residency fostering live performances and virtual showcases for college students in Orange County.
