In 450 BC the Greek philosopher Empedocles proposed the four elements as fire earth air and water.
This concert presents these classical elements in musical form beginning with Jean-Féry Rebel’s unsettling Chaos from his Les Élémens suite and concluding with Debussy’s magical triptych La Mer.
We are delighted to present the first performance of Air a new commission by David Gordon and jazz saxophonist Tim Whitehead featuring students from Warwick Schools Foundation in a special collaboration.
