Welcome to the 45th Electric Tentacle Electronic Music Open Mic.We will meet again on Thursday 22nd January 2026, for the first Electric Tentacle of 2026, back at our home at The Artisan Tap.
Starting at 6:30pm (But please feel free to get there before 6:30pm, as we now have an earlier finish and need to start at 7pm promptly, the bar is actually open from 4:30pm).
Electric Tentacle offers a friendly, supportive and non-judgmental community where artists can fearlessly showcase their talents.
A community hub for creative people in music and other arts, a place where collaboration is born, ideas thrive, other projects sprout, and friendships are made.
Whether this will be your first time playing outside of your house, or you are a seasoned pro, you are welcome to come and play for us.
We don't really like rules, so the only rule is that it has to be electronic music. That's the only qualifying criteria, there's no selection process and no standard that has to be met, if you ask to play and we have space, then you are playing.
This is a place where experimentation thrives, so let your imagination run wild!
Performers are invited to bless us with a 15-minute set, and slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The running order is decided on the night, although we can accommodate requests by message if you need to be on early or late etc. due to the likes of work commitments or the fact you are travelling from afar.
To secure your spot, we recommend pre-booking by sending us a message, as our slots tend to fill up quickly. However, if space is available walk ins will be welcomed. *Although January & February are now full.
The Artisan Tap is the perfect new home for us and the natural place for us to move to following the closure of the Captain's Bar. We love the bar and we think you will too. We love Scott, Jayne and the team, the quirky rooms, banging systems ,and great selection of drinks.
As an artist, you are encouraged to bring any merchandise you have, which can be displayed and sold in one of the rooms.
Additionally, feel free to bring a USB stick containing visuals you'd like to be projected during your set.
Entrance is FREE for both performers and spectators, so gather your friends and fellow electronic music enthusiasts to join us for an incredible night of sonic wonder.
