@electricsixofficial is a six piece alternative rock band formed in Detroit in 1996, combining elements of surf, punk, and disco with a cosmic touch. Their breakout 2002 album and single “DANGER! High Voltage!” charted in Europe/UK and is rumored to include Jack White singing backup vocals. Their 2003 single and video “Gay Bar” was a smash hit and stayed in the public lexicon for the next decade. Electric 6 released an album a year until 2018, and released their latest album “Turquoise” in 2023.
@messer_chups from St. Petersburg, Russia, have remained the premier Siberian surf band since 1998. Cloaked in prehistoric Soviet analog synth sounds, their enigmatic catalog of hits features a retro style that has as much to do with scratchy old vampire films from the ‘60s as it does with easy listening and surf styles.
