About this Event
On Tuesday, November 5, Faith Presbyterian Church offers Election Day Communion to all who put their trust in Jesus Christ.
Election Day Communion began in 2008. It helps us recall that our fullest allegiance is to the Kingdom of our God, through Jesus Christ, and reminds us that – despite our political differences and whatever the outcome – we are brothers and sisters who come to the same table of our Lord.
We will gather around the table of Jesus Christ for a brief service at 7 PM in the sanctuary and virtually (https://indianapolisfaith.org/2020/09/03/live-stream-worship/). If you join virtually, prepare simple elements of bread and cup to bring to the table.
Meanwhile, we are called to pray for our nation, its citizens, and those who stand for elected offices. We are divided, angry, frightened, but our God shall prevail, acting for peace and moving towards justice.
Under your law, we live, great God,
and by your will, we govern ourselves.
Help us as good citizens
to respect neighbors whose views differ from ours,
so that without partisan anger,
we may work out issues that divide us,
and elect candidates to serve the common welfare;
through Jesus Christ the Lord. Amen.
