ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Screencasting is recording a computer screen (website, document, content page in Canvas, etc.) to demonstrate doing something, reading something, etc. Some Screencasting software allows you to record either a "talking head" or a screen or both.
Screencasting is commonly used for the following purposes:
- Demonstrate how to navigate a course, website, or software such as a course tour
- Explain how to change settings on a software program
- Present or summarize content such as a mini lecture
- Provide an overview of a "chunk" of course content or assignment
- Provide feedback on an assignment (either faculty or student peer review)
- Virtual field trips or other simulations
- Students demonstrating their learning
This Zoom workshop is designed to teach you how to use Panopto to plan, create, edit, and publish a video for one of your courses.
By the completion of this workshop, you should be able to:
- Download and install Panopto.
- Adjust the audio/visual settings for recording and playback on your computer.
- Create a script to use for your video.
- Record your video.
- Edit your video.
- Publish your video.
