
About this Event
Join LAWAβs Natural Resources Management team to help protect LAβs natural biodiversity in the LAX Dunes. The LAX Dunes is the largest remaining fragment of the southern coastal dune ecosystem in Los Angeles. This precious natural resource is home to the endangered El Segundo Blue Butterfly and hundreds of other California native plants and animals. Volunteers can help restore this ecosystem and expand the habitat of the El Segundo Blue. You will also have an opportunity to observe the wonders of the dunes up close.
Activities include:
- Transplanting native plants
- Watering native transplants
