Dear Mayor Johnson, Judge Samaniego, Mayor Chacón, Mayor Cruz Jr., Mayor Renteria, Council Members, District Representatives, Film Commissioner Drew Mayor Oakes, and all members of the El Paso Film Community —Join us for a crucial conversation about the future of film production in our region and how we can position El Paso as a true leader in Texas’ creative economy.
We’ll be presenting our proposal:
Building a Creative Future: A Proposal for a Local Film Incentive in El Paso 2025, which includes:
• Local Film Incentive Program: 5–10% rebate for productions hiring local crews and spending locally.
• El Paso Short Film Micro-Grant: Annual grants supporting emerging filmmakers.
• Open Public Film Directory: Connecting filmmakers, vendors, and institutions.
Together we can:
• Create jobs for local crews and artists
• Boost our city’s economy
• Keep creative youth in El Paso
• Showcase our rich binational culture
• Compete with Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and New Mexico
El Paso has the talent, landscapes, and stories—now it’s time to build the framework that supports them.
Let’s come together to make it happen.
