El Cachivache returns to the Continental Club Houston for another Tango Punk extravaganza!El Cachivache Quinteto is currently one of the most popular tango bands and is widely recognized in the world-music circuit. Sometimes labeled as ‘Tango Punk’, the group is characterized by its undeniably creative, original, and very danceable style.
Some call them “modern buffoons”, while others describe their music as “communal flat groove”, and both are true. El Cachivache delivers their music in a vigorous manner with a strong dose of humor, mixing traditional tango with a post-punk look, which simultaneously frightens and attracts the audience.
Witty song introductions emerged with the music, livening up already energetic performances. The band was selected to perform at WOMEX19 Showcase in Tampere, Finland in October 2019, and became part of Putumayo´s world music catalogue in November 2024.
The band is very popular in its home city of Buenos Aires, and play every Wednesday at La Cachivacheria Milonga, in Palermo.
They are presenting now their new album “Justo a Tempo” 2024, with traditional tango
They will be on tour during 2025 from May 11th to June 13th in Europe and from October 10th to November 12th in Australia and Asia.
