Ekphrastic Poetry is a type of writing that uses vivid descriptions to interpret and respond to a work of art, such as a painting, sculpture, or photograph. You can learn how to write Ekphrastic Poetry! Decatur Area Poet member, Shelly Chabak, will be demonstrating this poetry form. After her demonstration the group will share poetry with each other. This is a free event, open to the general public. If you would like to share a poem and have it critiqued, please bring at least 8 copies of your poem - or, if you don't wish to share and only want to listen, that is fine too! The gathering will end at 7:45 pm.
