a Hindustani Classical vocal tribute to the legendary Gāyana Saraswati Kishori Amonkar.
The evening will open with a moving video conversation featuring Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia India’s gem and one of the world’s most celebrated masters of the bansuri flute.
Sharing the screen with him is Shri Shashi Vyas a renowned connoisseur and organizer of Hindustani Classical music concerts. Over the years Shri Shashi Vyas has pioneered countless landmark concerts including those for Mai (Padma Vibhushan Mogubai Kurdikar) Kishori Tai herself and Smt. Tejashree Amonkar the sole torch bearer from the family.
In this special conversation they share heartfelt memories—both humorous and profound—of Kishori Tai’s artistry her passion as a lifelong student and teacher and her singular place in the pantheon of Hindustani Classical music.
Following this evocative start we will be graced by soul-stirring performances by Smt. Tejashree Amonkar and Vidushi Shruti Sadolikar celebrating Kishori Tai’s musical legacy.
