Native speakers of critical languages are in high demand in the U.S. government.
All EHLS participants receive a full scholarship from the Defense Language and National Security Education Office (DLNSEO) that includes tuition and a living stipend. As part of the scholarship obligation, participants agree to fulfill the EHLS service requirement, which requires you to work for the federal government for one year after you complete the program.

Amharic Arabic Azerbaijani Balochi Bambara Chinese Mandarin Hausa Hindi Kazakh Kirghiz Kurdish Korean Persian Dari Persian Farsi Punjabi Pushto/Pashto Russian Somali Tadjik Tamashek Thai Tigrinya Turkish Ukrainian Urdu Uzbek Vietnamese
These Live Q&A Sessions will take place every Thursday April 6-June 1 at 2 pm EDT .
EHLS staff will describe the program, respond to your questions, and go over some common questions they receive from applicants. There will be a weekly special guest plus experienced EHLS Staff from CAL, IIE, and Georgetown University who can answer your burning questions!
