About this Event
Course dates: Thu 7 Nov and Thu 14 Nov 24, 10am - 4pm each session
Course Overview
One of the most common comments we hear when working with staff on support and supervision is that it has become very task-focused. This course looks to even out this imbalance.
This in-person, two-day course is designed to encourage lots of discussions, sharing of ideas and learning from each other as well as direct input from the trainer. There will be several small group activities, various practice sessions and time for reflection and action planning will be built into the course.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Describe the aims, key functions and potential benefits of effective support and supervision
- Negotiating and using support and supervision contracting which provides a robust structure to this key organisational encounter.
- Give effective feedback
- Learn and practice a simple structure to encourage and support staff to reflect on their work practice
- Use a model to support staff reach their potential in any area of their work
- Provide significant underpinning theoretical frameworks and tools that create effective supervision.
