Workshop 2 puts the learning from Workshop 1 into practice! Including: idea creation, project planning, risk mitigation, evaluation & more!
About this Event

Join us for the second of two workshop sessions taking place in Southampton city centre on Effective Partnered Practice! Due to the longer duration of this workshop, as well as refreshments, it will include a free lunch for all participants!

Building on last year’s pilot, the sessions will focus on sharing learning about and developing confidence in cross-sector partnership working, whilst exploring ideas for new projects and collaborations that celebrate and enrich our city & region.

Workshop Session 2

This second workshop session will take the learning from our communities about partnership working shared in workshop session 1, and start looking at how to put it into practice.

We'll look at the areas of interest you shared and generated through the first workshop, as well as connections you made, and any other feedback you give us, to curate small groups who you will work with to look at:

  • Generating ideas - both as an exercise in creative thinking and the opportunity to look at real-life projects you want to work on,
  • Project planning - what are the next stages for turning these ideas into a reality?
  • Mitigating risk & keeping momentum - what challenges are you likely to face? How can you keep the energy going to overcome them?
  • Equity - both within the partnerships themselves and their collborative projects,
  • Evaluation - different methods, why it's important to embed it from the outset, and how to make sure it leads to action!

Activities will be interspersed with stories from guest speakers who have worked on a variety of cross-sector partnership projects, linking their honest experiences with your discussions. (The full list of guest contributors will be updated nearer the time.)

At the end of the day, the small groups will have the chance to share theirr ideas with the wider group and benefit from peer feedback, and we will outline next steps/supported pathways for those who wish to pursue their collaborative projects and apply for funding.

The Effective Partnered Practice 2024 Workshop Series

All sessions are FREE to attend. If you represent/are part of a small organisation, and a small stipend towards e.g. travel and time spent at the sessions would enable you to attend, please let us know.

The workshops work as standalone sessions for those interested in partnership working – but there will also be additional opportunities for those attending to be supported through the application process for our Public & Community Engagement Development Fund (either to put into action a project idea developed in the sessions, or for other project ideas), as well as sign-posting to other funding opportunities.
