Throughout our history, humanity has viewed technological advancement as both a gift and a curse. Our technology has connected us all across the planet and even allows us to visit the stars, but it could also be the harbinger of our destruction. Horror stories have reflected this dichotomy for hundreds of years. Whether through the loss of identity and individuality or even the obliteration of the world, our fear of technology has been a terrific source for horror.
Join us on Wednesday, May 8th, to discuss the anxiety that our technological advancements have brought about. From advances in robotics and A.I., to the fear of what virtual reality could do to our perception of reality itself, and the oldest philosophical question of what it means to be human, there is plenty this subgenre leaves for the mind to chew on. This is Techno-Horror!
Eerie Horror Fest Presents... is a guided discussion of horror media that meets at Room 33 in downtown Erie, PA. Admission is $10 per person at the door (no online sales).
Each horrific meeting has a theme and accompanying media put together by our EHF Presents team. Attendees will be led by our hosts to delve into content and themes represented in horror in fun, analytical, and eye-opening ways.
