About this Event

Working Class Heritage Buildings of Downtown Edmonton

The walking tour will look at familiar buildings and spaces in downtown Edmonton and hear stories about the lives of the people who built and made their livings and lives in this “boom and bust” town. Cathy Roy, retired museum curator and 4th generation settler in central Edmonton will lead the tour.

We will walk from the Milner Public Library on 102 Avenue and 100 Street to the top of Grierson Hill and back. Participants are given a free copy of the booklet “ALHI Tour of Edmonton Working Class Heritage Buildings”.

Please consider the weather on the day of the walk and wear appropriate clothing and walking shoes. The walk is an approximately 3 km round trip.

Suitable for children over 12 who have an interest in history.
