Educators and school librarians, we invite you to attend our first Educator Night of the school year! In addition to celebrating you with 20% off all purchases, raffle prizes, and take-home goodie bags with Advanced Reader Copies and swag for all attendees, we will be leading a short discussion about how to work with us to book author visits for your school that will delight and inspire your students. Come tell us what types of authors you’d like to host at your school so we can consider you for our pitches to publishers, then hear from local middle-grade author Alyssa Colman (author of The Gilded Girl and, most recently, Where Only Storms Grow: A Novel About the Dust Bowl) about how to ensure these visits go off without a hitch!
As a bonus, we will be raffling off a free virtual visit for your students with two incredible award-winning middle-grade authors (and best friends), James Ponti and Karina Yan Glaser! Both authors have standout books coming out this September. James Ponti’s The Hurricane Heist is the second in the Sherlock Society series, a fast-paced mystery series already beloved by our customers. And Karina Yan Glaser (of the Vanderbeekers fame!) has her historical fiction debut with The Nine Moons of Han Yu and Luli. The latter, already receiving starred reviews from the trades, follows a dual timeline of a boy in Ancient China and a girl in 1930s NYC Chinatown, both on perilous journeys to save their families.
